Leather jackets or faux leather jackets are a staple item that everyone needs to have in their closet. I have been on a hunt for the perfect faux leather jacket that would go with absolutely everything, literally, everything. My goal was to choose the right style that would look great with something dressy or something really casual. The weather is getting warmer, but still not quite warm enough where you can go without wearing something over your outfit.
The little black dress is one staple every girl needs in her closet. Today I am sharing a dress that is not only classy but oh so chic too. The ruffle trend is very popular right now, especially on sleeves. When I came across this little number, I couldn’t say no. I especially love the way the ruffles drape down the sides of this dress adding that extra touch. I kept my jewelry subtle because I didn’t want it to take away from the beautiful detailing.
Spring clothing is in full swing. Everywhere you look those heavy sweaters and coats are on clearance and all the flowy, light colored clothing is fully stocked. I came across this flowy tunic while doing some shopping and instantly fell in love with it. The fit around the arms is tight and stretchy while the rest of the top is flowy and comfortable. This tunic runs true to size.
Spring is just around the corner and I cannot wait to pack my coat and boots away. As much as I get excited for colder weather, I am definitely more excited about the warmer weather. Today I decided to compile some spring trends for this upcoming season. There is a lot of versatility with style this spring and a lot of great ways to wear it.
No coat in February! What?!?! Yep, Midwest weather at its finest. But don’t worry, we may be getting several inches of snow in a few days.
Spring is so close I can taste it. We are being teased with almost 70-degree weather and I am loving it so much. Today I am sharing two different poncho type looks that are both equally as comfortable and give the right amount of warmth on those slightly chilly days. I’m linking another poncho look that I did a few posts back.
Last week we traveled to Maui, Hawaii sans kids =) Let me tell you, our experience was very different this time around. The last time we were in Maui was for my sister-in-law’s wedding and Wyatt (now 5 years old) was only 18 months back then. He did not appreciate the 7-hour flight, shocking, right? He pretty much cried the whole time on the plane and I found myself imaging what jumping out of an airplane without a parachute would feel like. I was in a different state of mind.
We just got back from Maui, HI and let me tell you, stepping off that plane and getting hit in the face with the 20-degree weather was pretty brutal. This is also why I am posting so late. I wanted to take a partial break from everything. It was nice to just relax and not have to think about life and work. It also happened to fall on my birthday, so that was a major plus. More on this trip in my next post.
I am amazed that I can pull off a light cardigan in the middle of January. What is happening? I even busted out my peep toe booties…what????? We did finally get a little bit of snow as I am now typing this, but nothing like what some other states have been getting. We mainly have had flurries, but that’s pretty much it. We did get a serious ice storm where the city basically shut down for a few days…that was scary.
It is no mystery that oversized sweaters and cardigans are my jam. I sort of did a similar post last week on Layering A Fuzzy Winter Cardigan. Anyway, I came across another oversized cardigan that I have been wrapping myself in. This one does run on a larger side because I am wearing a size small here and it is still big on me. I typically like to wear them with just a basic tee and a simple necklace just because the sweater already makes a statement on its own.
